Problem
An emerging literary brand needed an editorial home that read like an independent magazine, not a blog template. Affiliate revenue was the model, but the work had to feel like culture, not commerce.
Approach
Static-first Next.js with MDX-driven essays, a custom display type system, and affiliate links composed inline as part of the prose. SEO and structured data wired from week one so essays index immediately.
Outcome
Live publication shipping weekly long-form essays. Lighthouse 100 across the board, average dwell time over four minutes, and the affiliate channel paid for hosting from month two.
